On 15th October 2015, the Kingston Business Excellence Awards took place at the Holiday Inn in Kingston Upon Thames. The awards celebrate businesses within the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames who bring prosperity to the Royal Borough.

Led by Kingston Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Royal Borough of Kingston and Kingstonfirst, the awards have become the most prestigious date in the Kingston business calendar since their launch.

Genuine Solutions had a hugely successful evening and had a clean sweep winning every award entered, four out of four! This is the first time any business has accomplished such feat in the history of the awards.

The first award for was Commitment to the Community, Mick Beach, Contract Manager for Veolia, said: ‘This company clearly demonstrated how they go above and beyond in their commitment to the community. With a strong belief in recruiting locally, developing workforce skills through a wide array of apprenticeship schemes and their outstanding and continual dedication to charity work, this award is thoroughly deserved.’

Following on from being named winners, Genuine Solutions CEO, Christian McBride said,As Genuine Solutions celebrates its 10th anniversary it’s fitting that we receive recognition for all of our hard work and commitment to our local community, having raised in excess of £250k throughout the years and undertaken over 50 different events in conjunction with our charity partners we couldn’t be more proud to have received the Commitment to the Community award.’

Genuine Solutions followed up this fine start to the evening by being named winners for Best Business for Customer Service. Andrew Collins, Operations Manager for John Lewis, said, ‘This year’s winner has consistently put customer service at the heart of their business winning new customers as a result. They are achieving astonishing success – and the secret seems to be their dedication to meeting and exceeding customer expectations. A very worthy winner.’

The next award awarded to Genuine Solutions was Best Business for Training, Development and Apprenticeships, Mike Tweedale, vice principal of Kingston College, said on behalf of the judges, ‘This company demonstrated a real focus on providing flexible and effective training to develop their employees, in particular their apprentices. The evidence of investment shown to support and mentor every individual employee was outstanding and made them worthy winners.’

The evening had the perfect ending when, Genuine Solutions were named the overall winner and awarded the Kingston Excellence Business of the Year, which was presented by Andy Carpenter, Director of Business Banking for NatWest. Andy went on to say ‘The overall business of the year, Genuine Solutions has demonstrated commitment, dedication and service not only to its staff and customers but also its community’.

Genuine Solutions Managing Director, Bav Majithia said of this amazing accomplishment, receiving Best Overall Business of the year is testament to the teams commitment and dedication, the past year has seen a number of positive changes across the businesses and we believe that these have shone through.’
