ENSURING SAFE TRANSPORT WITH THE FTA |
The Freight Transport Association represents the transport interests of companies moving goods by road, rail, sea and air. FTA members operate over 200,000 goods vehicles - almost half the UK fleet. Membership of FTA is designed to provide the right information to ensure a safe, legal and efficient transport function. Since joining, the Genuine Solutions Group have completed several training courses, receiving fully certificated qualifications across the fleet.

Genuine Solutions are sponsoring the 2010 Mobile News Award for Industry Personality of the Year. With several stoically placed figureheads and a bit of newish blood into the mix, this year it looks like we could see a much more open race to grab the prestigious award, that is almost the Oscar of the mobile industry. Attaching our name to the biggest awards of the night is great publicity, as the entire industry vote for their nominee, and most will be eagerly waiting to see who receives the coveted honour. Along with our sponsorship, we have also entered into two categories, Environmental Enterprise for GSUK and Accessory Distributor of the Year for Genuine Solutions.

Genuine Solutions UK Tailor Their ISO 14001 |
Most operations with only a couple of years trading would be more than happy with an ISO 14001 certification, and many adapt their organisations to fit standard procedures and criteria. Genuine Solutions UK have taken the next step with their accreditation and are working with consultants to design tailored procedures for the ISO to fit around. A bespoke manual that achieves certification is a big project, but has huge benefits to both the business and the environment.
"An ISO is a standard qualification, and 140001 is focused on environmental procedures", said Christian McBride, Director. "We have a huge responsibility to the environment, our own EMS, specific industry hurdles and other external audits that require specific procedures and we need to model our ISO14001 around these, not conform to a standard set of procedures. It is a massive undertaking, involves several man hours and isn’t cheap, but the benefits will be there for all to see in terms of leaner working practices, staff competence and minimal environmental impact."
