it comes to profitability for
their customers, sometimes
you have to look further
afield than the main
manufacturers.
“Nokia batteries are an
easy sale, and everyone
will always need Samsung
chargers”, says Sales
and Purchasing Director
Chris McBride.
“The problem with
these manufacturer
accessories is that they
are the bread and butter
products, and when the big
players produce a speaker kit
or a stereo headset they come
at a price. There will always
be a demand for these items,
but with everyone selling
them it’s difficult for a dealer
to make good margins.

Christian McBride wins National Commendation |
Christian McBride, Director and one half of the brains behind Genuine Solutions, has received a commendation in the prestigious National Business Awards sponsored by Orange.
After making it through as a finalist this August, the judging panel were held to ransom over some very strong arguments, and Christian missed out on the title by one point. He had this to say," I'm slightly gobsmacked to be honest with you. I wanted to run my own distribution firm, enjoy helping customers and the environmental side of things. I never thought it would be something that they hand awards out for. To come second is a massive surprise and even to be a finalist in this was a great achievement for me personally."
Bav Majithia, MD and the other half of the Genuine Solutions backbone was delighted at his partners success. "It just goes to show you that if you work hard and bring your dreams to reality, you can achieve things that you may never have realised. This is a great honour for Christian, and the business. Who knows, with the rest of the plans we have, he might even win it next year!"
The category Christian was nominated for was Young Entrepreneur of the Year, sponsored by Credit Suisse. We'll have more information and some photos after the awards presentation in London.

Second ISO Accreditation Awarded |
In September 2007, Genuine Solutions received their second ISO quality standard - 14001 - Environmental Management.
Christian McBride once again was delighted with the award
"Working towards quality standards has helped us to develop effective working practices. The ISO 14001 mark has now given us ethical working practices and procedures that benefit both Genuine Solutions and the environment.
If more companies adhered to their environmental responsibilities, we would see far less waste and pollution. This can only be a good thing" |
